Queries, Quarantine, and More Questions

I finished polishing off my manuscript last weekend and have spent the last week sending off queries. Now with the school year coming up, more and more demands are coming. I teach kindergarten, and this will definitely be a challenging year for sure. Virtual learning won't be easy for them (or anyone, really). But I am determined to stay positive and do all that I can. Prayers are appreciated.

As for the queries, I am hopeful, but also anticipating the rejections. I've been working on growing a thick skin and not falling to pieces when I hit a bump in the road. I've sent out 15 in my first batch. Since these take 4-6 weeks to respond, I am going to wait just a bit before sending out a new batch. In the mean time, I'm researching who to try next that will be as enthusiastic about my work as I am. Or at least can see potential. I'm willing to put in the hard work. If I need to self-publish, I will. There's no shame in it. It's a vastly growing option. I just know where my strengths are, and I think traditional would be a better fit for me. I've prayed about it and have asked for the right option to present itself. I'm just so ready to hold it in my hands. Hopefully soon.
